Reviving the Craft of Cordoba

OUR PLACE

Cordobano is a contemporary House dedicated to the preservation, revival, and interpretation of Córdoba’s historic Guadamecí leather art. Working through commissions and limited masterworks, we create architectural and object-based leather works shaped by time, discipline, and restraint.

The House

The Craft of Guadamecí Leather

Originating in medieval Córdoba, Guadamecí leather is an architectural art form shaped through hand embossing, selective gilding, restrained polychrome, and patient finishing. Cordobano practices this discipline not as ornament, but as cultural continuity.

Architectural Leather Panel — Masterwork

Executed using traditional Guadamecí techniques, this architectural panel represents Cordobano’s foundational work. Conceived as a cultural artifact rather than a product, it serves as the reference point for all commissioned works undertaken by the atelier.

The Works

Commissioned Creation

Cordobano undertakes works by commission only, ensuring each project receives the time, material focus, and attention it requires.

Limited Undertaking

A small number of works are accepted each year. Each is documented, archived, and often non-repeatable.

Cultural Placement

Works are placed in private residences, institutions, and interiors aligned with Cordobano’s values.
